It’s called Lightspeed and will be edited by John Joseph Adams, an excellent editor whose many anthologies — Federations, The Living Dead, Wastelands, and others — you should immediately run out and by because of their delicious awesomeness.
So far online magazines have had difficulty surviving long-term. I’m hoping Lightspeed has a better business model than the others and enough unique content to break the trend. There’s nothing in the press release about whether this will be a subscription-based service, ad based, combination of the two, or something altogether different.
I encourage you to check it out when it becomes available. I know I will.
