Spooky new trailer: DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK

I have a vague recollection of the original Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, but I’m not sure I actually saw it. If I did, I can’t recall anything about it, so I might as well have not seen it.

The remake is being done by Guillermo del Toro, the mad genius behind the second Blade movie, The Devil’s Backbone, and both Hellboy movies. It’s a shame that we’ll never get to see his vision for The Hobbit (he had to leave the production after spending more than a year in New Zealand because the financing for the movie is tied up in the disastrous meltdown of MGM, and the movie can’t start shooting until that is resolved), but that allows for him to make movies like this one, as well as H.P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness (my favorite Lovecraft story).

There’s not a lot here, but it sure looks spooky. Watch it in the dark, with the lights out.
