Epic (and brilliant) review of The Phantom Menace

Yes, the movie is ten years old. Yes, the movie, overall, still sucks monkey balls. (I was more put off by Midicholorians and the idea that Darth Freakin’ Vader built C-3PO than I was by the idiotic and painfully unfunny Jar-Jar Binks.)

But this review is still genius.

Yes, it’s long. Yes, he has a (deliberately) weird voice. But the review is deadly accurate in what went wrong with The Phantom Menace in a highly entertaining manner. The review is comedic gold as much as it is an insightful deconstruction of how bad decisions multiplied on one another in the first of the prequel films.

The review is also a really good primer on the basic elements of story, character, and plot construction. How to do them right (and how The Phantom Menace almost always gets it wrong).

There are seven parts, each ten minutes long. Is it worth a little more than an hour of your life? Absolutely!
