Yes, I know I said I was going to wait until late summer before buying one of these things, but these insidiously cool videos Apple posted on their site drove me over the edge. I just had to have it, and have it right now!
Although “right now” is defined as not shipping until April 12, so I’m going to have to cool my jets for a little while longer. I considered staking out the local Best Buy or heading down to the Lancaster Apple Store this weekend to see if I could scarf one up, but I’m working my company’s Easter Egg Hunt Saturday morning (fun with the kids), so by the time I could get to either place the chances of them having any left in stock was going to be pretty slim. So I pulled the trigger now.
Of course this is a want and not a need. I’m certainly going to make use of it for writing and note-taking and reading, but there are other ways to do these things.
But these other ways just aren’t as cool.
