I made this a PDF rather than an HTML page because of its length. In manuscript form, the prologue is 48 pages long (I shortened up the line spacing for the PDF, so this copy is only 32 pages). If I'd kept it as an HTML file I would have had to go through 480+ lines and format them by hand -- no thanks! I hope the PDF is OK with everyone. If you need Acrobat reader, you can find it here.
